Stage 2 Bronco Steering

This is identical to our Stage 3 housing but does not require you to purchase a HOSS 3.0 rack. We take your existing Hoss 2.0 or Hoss 3.0 steering rack and swap the internals directly into our housing.

We give you the option to either ship us your existing housing and we will install the internals or we send you the housing and you or an authorized dealer install the internals.

This kit requires you to ship us the steering rack. We will take the internals from your existing rack and put them into our billet housing. If you are not on the west coast we have the following shops that can do this for you

Dixie 4 Wheel Drive in St. George Utah

Exodus 4×4 in New Braunfels Texas

We are actively looking to train dealers throughout the country to do this. If you are interested, please contact us

This is much more than a simple housing. Our billet aluminum steering rack is a completely redesigned solution for those who want the security of knowing that this housing will not break. We have redesigned how the rack bar is stabilized in the housing, eliminating the common failure points on both sides of the rack. The factory rack bar is stabilized by 1.5 points of contact. Our billet housings stabilizes the rack in 4 points of contact and adds a massive amount of material to high stress housing areas making it the strongest steering rack available.

While this is a massive improvement over the factory rack, we still maintain full OEM compatibility. The OE rack is fully integrated with factory ABS electronics and this critical component is fully maintained with the 74Weld Billet Bronco Steering Rack. We use the internals and motor from your existing steering rack to ensure proper electronic integration and compatibility with all OE systems. Plan on driving your Bronco mostly on the street? No problem, this is NOT an off road only product. It will function perfectly for road driving with zero adverse effects. The fitment and feel is perfect for road use, but strong enough to take heavy off road abuse.

We believe that the factory internals are not the problem. In our opinion the issue is how the rack bar is stabilized and the material the housing is made from. Change these and your rack will stay alive!

6061 Aluminum

Our 6061 Billet housing is a massive strength upgrade vs the factory cast aluminum housing.

CNC Machined Housing Design

We purposely left a whole lot more material in critical areas of our rack making it much stronger. Modeled in CAD with FEA analysis, we are able to see where weak points are from impacts, frame twist, shock loads, and typical rock crawling scenarios. We then take this data and use it to guide us on design, giving you the strongest rack available. By adding material in high stress zones the rack housing is substantially stronger. How much stronger? We are confident you can’t ever break our housings and we will back that with a lifetime warranty.

Rack Bar Stabilization

We completely redesigned how the rack bar is stabilized by the housings. By machining the critical pieces on state of the art 5 axis CNC machines we are able to dramatically increase surface area contact around the rack and pinion by over 580% compared to stock. This huge increase leads to a much more robust rack because the rack bar is properly supported in every direction.

Tie Rods

Our Billet Steering rack requires you to upgrade your tie rods. The end pieces where the boots slide on is larger than your factory rack. You can either run Ford Performance tie rods or we would highly recommend the Icon tie rods. You are not able to run your factory tie rods because the boots will not fit over this housing. If you run more than a 2” lift you MUST go with a clevis style heim joint setup. For a clevis and heim joint setup we recommend the RPG Offroad steering links.
