Raptor

A portal on an independent suspension does not necessarily translate to a lift. What a portal does on and independent setup in essence is lift the CV. In doing so it allows you to move your lower A-arm up and this provides lift. Keeping this in mind, we know that Raptors only need a 2″ lift to fit a 37″ tire. Where the portal comes in is in its ability to lift both the CV and the suspension. While the portal is a 3.8″ lift this lift can be split any way we choose between the CV and the supension. We have opted to run a 2″ suspension lift and a 1.8″ CV lift. The result is more clearance under the lower arms, and flat CV’s at ride height. This allows you to use more wheel travel with the factory upper and lower arms because the angle of the CV’s at ride height is perfectly neutral. In addition to the geometry benefits, we give you the ability to run a 35 spline Warn locking hub and eliminate the vacuum locking collars which have proven to fail. Unlock your hub on the street and none of your CV’s and drivetrain ever spin, giving you better fuel economy and no wear on these components. All of this is coupled with a 22% gear reduction making the vehicle quicker out of the hole and making every drivetrain component inside of the portal including the CV’s and front differential 22% stronger.
